Celerity Craft, based in Squamish, British Columbia, is developing a groundbreaking marine vessel using ground effect technology that outperforms traditional ships and boats in speed, comfort, and energy efficiency. Our platform, whether powered by conventional diesel engines, gas turbines, or zero-emission solutions like batteries or fuel cells, offers significantly lower CO2 emissions. The vessel’s ultra-low drag enables long-range travel, surpassing the capabilities of hydrofoils while avoiding marine animals, debris strikes, and reducing underwater noise.
Unlike hovercraft, wing-in-ground, or hydrofoil designs, our vessel features a trimaran hull with innovative aerodynamics, hydrodynamics, and a unique propulsion system. The marine industry’s shift toward sustainable energy solutions is creating a global demand for innovative technology like ours, as efficient water-based transport can drive economic growth in coastal regions.
Squamish, where we are based, is a perfect environment for nature lovers who are passionate and driven. Our leadership includes a serial entrepreneur with a Harvard MBA and an engineering team led by a former Tesla engineer.
About the Role
As a Fabricator, you will play a key role in bringing concepts to life. You will collaborate with our mechanical designers and aerodynamicists to build experiments and fabricate prototypes. Most projects would involve a CAD model or drawing made by our design team and using our CNC machine, 3dPrinter, or hand tools to fabricate them. Foam, plastics and aluminum will be used routinely to build small-scale mockups. Some projects will require building larger-scale molds and work composites (ex: custom air ducts and various aerosurface).
Installing and calibrating mechanisms, power systems, as well as instrumentation will be needed to conduct experiments.
Prototypes are points of leverage that attract investors and convince potential partners. Your craftsmanship skills will have an opportunity to shine in delivering captivating looking constructions.
Having a clean, organized, and safe workspace is also essential to the company’s growth. You will be trusted to implement new procedures as the team’s needs evolve.
We are looking for a creative and detail-oriented individual who can balance immediate goals with long-term scalability. Your insights will shape the future of marine transportation, helping us build and maintain a competitive edge as we continue to refine our intellectual property. You will report directly to the Head of Design and Technology and work closely with our team in Squamish.
